Timbercliffe Cottage
Discover the romance and history of Camden, Maine with a getaway at Timbercliffe Cottage Inn overlooking Penobscot Bay on Maine’s Central coast. The Inn’s unique hillside location provides a serene setting and beautiful views of the bay from the popular 80′ grand veranda and spacious guest areas. Our traditional New England inn offers wonderful suites and room accommodations for Camden guests and, of course, indulgent breakfasts!
The inn is tastefully handcrafted in a colonial style throughout honoring its impressive 1790 Sea Captain’s home origins. Each of our rooms features a hand hewn four-poster bed and fine linens. We welcome all travelers over the age of 12 to enjoy this beautifully restored colonial home. Historically known as “Highland Cottage”, the house has a commanding setting at the foot of Mt. Battie, centrally located between Camden, Maine’s harbor shopping district and Camden Hills State Park.

Our Breakfasts
At Timbercliffe Cottage in Camden, Maine, start your day with a delightful breakfast on either the grand porch or terrace with lovely views of the Penobscot Bay, or in our main dining room with a wooded view. Guests always enjoy lively conversation and sharing their adventures over a scrumptious breakfast. We begin breakfast with a cup of our praised morning roast coffee or a wide selection of teas.
We serve a different breakfast entree daily, varied between sweet and savory: raspberry popovers, blueberry pancakes, Maine maple syrup and bacon or sausage, five-cheese Nantucket pie with a thin potato crust and side ham, very berry soufflé, omelets (filled with goodies such as smoked sausage, chevre, and avocado) and many others…
One-of-a-kind Porch
Timbercliffe’s wide, wrap around, ocean view veranda is the perfect place to begin your day with a delicious breakfast and cup of steaming coffee. And after a relaxing or adventurous day exploring downtown Camden or nearby Camden Hills State Park, the porch is a relaxing spot to unwind in our wicker rockers with a refreshing drink and a good book.
Sit back on the porch swing and glimpse a tall mast schooner or grand yachts sailing out of picturesque Camden Harbor before an evening stroll to the village for dinner.
